Tustin Divorce

In addition to taking care of your body, mind, and soul — so that you can concentrate on your next steps regarding your California separation — you also need to manage your work. A major marital fight can make work life complicated.

Now might be a really good time to ask your supervisor to take some time off. Alternately, if you’re in business for yourself, now might be a good time to contact clients and ask to defer key deadlines on big projects. Give yourself time and space at work, so that you can focus on your domestic life and make decisions without feeling pressured or rushed because of work obligations.

Along those lines, you may still have duties to your kids. Obviously, you need to attend to them and care for them. But now might be a good time to call in extra help with the child care. For instance, you may want to invite your parents to assist with child care, chores and errands around the house. Or you may need/want to hire people to take some of this work off your hands.

As a general rule of thumb, the more time and space you can give yourself, the better. Of course, life doesn’t stop just because you got separated or had a big fight with your spouse. So be sure to attend to the obligations that must be managed, and reward yourself for a job well done.

Remember: you are in a difficult situation, but the situation won’t last forever. Give it the attention it deserves, and connect with the resources that can help you find solutions. To that end, call Dinnebier & Demmerle now to schedule an evaluation of your case.
